#51: Time Goes By
Monday 9/9/24
What a wild weekend of coachings I just had. Voice lessons, coach the coach, college audition prep.. Every hour something was new. And tbh, that’s the way for me. When my calendar is 5-6 hours in a row of the same type of coaching I lose steam. I am much better when things vary for me. I’m simply more engaged and excited to change it up.
I’ve been working nearly exclusively on zoom for 4.5 years. It’s very comfortable. I wear my loungewear and sit in a comfy seat - or even my couch - i went through THAT moment the last 4-5 months far too often.
I’m really enjoying going to teach at the college once a week. The 3 hours go very quickly and I get some time off that day to do some things for me. During this time of year, I normally get 1 day off (fridays) and i work the other six 10-10 (saturdays/sundays 10-4). Getting out of the apartment is greatly needed. Going to work feels like a break. But hustling like this gives me a ton of flexibility and freedom the balance of the year.
I also crossed a huge hurdle this weekend! I got my PRESCREEN FILMING SCHEDULE DONE! It is such a giant puzzle pieces coordinating space availability with all the students and their schedules too. My schedule is irrelevant haha i just do not plan anything Fri/Sat/Sun from 8-4. But it is all figured out and everyone (for now) is happy! I also did not overextend myself even though I have people traveling in from all over the country. That part?!?! Still wild to me. I’ll never forget the first time it happened.
“Oh i was hoping to come film with you!”
“In nj? Like you want to come here?”
“Yes! I’ll see some schools and catch a show but I really want to meet you”
“From washington state?”
“Yes i asked my parents and i’ll actually be traveling alone”
I was floored.
Well that’s the catch up after the weekend. I have another packed week including a callback, a wedding!!!!, and 30 coachings. Happy Monday friends.
